Anna Maria Island

Take time to explore Longboat Key, Lakewood Ranch, Bradenton, and Anna Maria Island, a living tribute to a time in Florida's past when small beach towns were the rule, not the rare exception. With an annual average temperature of 75 degrees, Florida's Gulf Islands keeps a warm, year-round feeling of summer seclusion. A brilliant and fragrant floral parade of passion flowers, hibiscus, striking bougainvillea, cheery alamanda, and jasmine color the inland landscape. And a seven-mile streach of powder-soft sandy beaches, dotted with wipsy sea oats and scrubby Australian pines, lines a shimmering expanse of emerald gulf waters.

Naples

To quote writer Meghan McEwen from The NEw York Times February 3, 2006 Escapes section, "This city- nmaed after the one in Italy because of its beautiful bay- is most widely known for its sugar-sand beaches, warm winter weather and gated communities that attract, older, well-off snowbirds who live to golf but go to bed early. Now Naples is staring to draw a younger, more dynamic crowd attracted to outdoorsy pursuits off the course, high-end shopping and late-night noshing all in a laid-back, upscale setting with enough cultural interest to support more than 130 art galleries and a symphony orchestra.

Islamorada

Known as the Sport-Fishing Capital of the World, Islamorada is where backcountry sport fishing and saewater fly fishing were pioneered. It's where legendary fishing guides Jimmy Albright, Cecil Keith and Stu Apte plied their tarde. Islamorada's unique location, lying between Florida Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, provides an unrivaled diversity of fishing opportunities. The Gulf Stream flows past the islands form 10 to 20 miles offshore, bringing seasonal vistors like sailfish and marlin, kingfish and wahoo, dolphin and tuna close enough to shore to be targeted by small-boat anglers.
